What is a Carolina rig and when do I use it?
A Carolina rig uses a sliding bullet weight on the main line above a swivel, a 12-30 inch leader, and a soft plastic bait rigged on a hook. The weight stays on the bottom while the bait drifts and floats freely behind it on the leader. Excellent for fishing flats and points where bass relate to bottom but suspend slightly above it.
