Q.Spawn Timing & Fishing

When do speckled trout spawn in the Southeast?

A.

Speckled trout spawn in summer (May-September) in the Southeast, with peak activity in June-July when water hits 78-82°F. They spawn in deeper estuarine waters at night, often near grass-flat edges and in inlet-adjacent areas. Females release eggs into the water column to be fertilized externally.

Spawn calendar pages cover speckled trout timing; tide guide pages cover the inlet and grass-flat conditions during spawn.
