Farm Pond Management
What is pond fertilization and does my pond need it?
Pond fertilization adds phosphorus to stimulate plankton bloom that feeds the food chain. Recommended for clear-water ponds with poor fish growth and low natural fertility; not recommended for already-productive or muddy ponds. Apply 4-8 lbs of P2O5 per acre in early spring, then again every 4-6 weeks if fish growth justifies.
