Farm Pond Management
Should I aerate my farm pond?
Aeration helps ponds with stratification problems, low oxygen events (especially after fall turnover), excessive algae blooms, or heavy fish biomass. Bottom-diffuser aerators are most efficient. Surface fountains work for ponds under 8 ft. Not every pond needs aeration — small, well-shaped ponds with good water flow often don't.
