Farm Pond Fishing
Should I stock catfish in a bass pond?
Channel catfish coexist well with bass and bluegill — they fill a different niche (bottom feeding) and don't compete heavily for the same food. Stock 50-100 channel cats per acre in addition to your bass-bluegill base. Avoid blue or flathead catfish in farm ponds smaller than 5 acres — they grow large and prey on smaller bass and bluegill.
