Saltwater Species Behavior
Do bluefish ruin fishing for other species?
Bluefish are aggressive predators that can shred bait pods, scatter bait fish, and eat lures intended for other species. In areas where bluefish blitz heavily, they can disrupt striper or trout fishing temporarily. However, blue blitzes also concentrate bait, sometimes drawing other predators (stripers, mahi) to the same area.
