What is a cold frame and how do I use it?
A cold frame is a low, ground-level box with a clear (glass or polycarbonate) lid that traps solar heat and shelters plants from frost. Use for hardening off seedlings before transplant, growing winter greens (spinach, lettuce, mache), and extending the harvest window in fall. Vent on warm days to prevent overheating.
