Pigs & Poultry
How many pigs can I raise on an acre?
On rotational pasture, 5-15 pigs per acre is sustainable for short rotations (4-8 weeks per paddock). On confinement (pens, deep-bedded), much higher densities are possible but require more management and feed inputs. Rooting damage means pigs don't stay on one acre long-term — rotation is essential.
