Variety performance review

Patriot White Clover in the Deep South.

  • Good
  • Pennington Seed
  • Perennial; 2–4 month establishment
  • Organic-approved

Regional strengths

Patriot is a sister variety to Durana from the same Pennington / UGA breeding pipeline and is widely tested in UGA forage trials. Slightly more aggressive establishment than Durana with similar persistence — a reasonable substitute when Durana seed availability is constrained.

Regional weaknesses

Patriot's persistence is generally rated slightly below Durana in long-term UGA trial data — for maximum stand life, Durana is the higher-confidence pick. Like all ladino white clovers, Patriot demands attention to pH and fertility to express its potential.
