Pest & Weed Management
What is soybean cyst nematode and how do I manage it?
SCN is a microscopic root parasite that reduces soybean yields 10-30% in infected fields without visible above-ground symptoms. Manage with SCN-resistant varieties, crop rotation to non-host crops (corn, wheat), and periodic soil testing for SCN egg counts. PI 88788 is the most common resistance source — rotate sources to prevent resistance breakdown.
