Q.Food Plots for Wildlife

How large should a deer food plot be?

A.

Hunting kill plots can be as small as 1/4 acre. Nutrition plots that meaningfully feed the herd should be 1-3+ acres each. Multiple smaller plots in different cover types outperform one large plot. Aim for 2-5% of total acreage in food plots for nutrition; smaller for hunting access plots.

Crop calendar pages cover plot establishment.
