Land Management & Pasture
How do I overseed a pasture without tilling it?
Frost-seed clover and small-seeded legumes in late winter (February-March) when freeze-thaw cycles work seed into soil. For larger seeds, use a no-till drill or broadcast and roll. Graze pasture short (1-2 inches) before overseeding to expose soil and reduce competition. Manage grazing for 6-8 weeks after to allow establishment.
